THESE curious sheep were certainly not afraid to get close to the camera on the moors high above Holmfirth.

For animals usually associated with running away, this inquisitive flock got up close to Examiner reader Sandie Nicholson from Honley, who was out for a walk with her dog, Crumble.

“We’ve had such a lot of bleak, cold, miserable weather recently I thought this photo would bring a bit of cheer,” she said.

“As you can see, the natives of the Holme Valley were modelling some fine woolly coats and were warm enough to hang around and pose for me above Digley reservoir. I think they thought I was going to feed them.”

The reservoir is near both Holme and Black Hill and is a popular spot for walkers. It is managed by Yorkshire Water and has a walk all the way round it. There are car parks at both ends of the dam and the largest one has picnic tables.

We always need submissions for Picture Of The Week.

We are always keen to celebrate the town’s achievements, its spirit and its people.

So please get out the camera and share your view of what makes Huddersfield so special.
