WELL, it was always going to be a snow picture for Picture of the Week.

This is the view from the top of the moors above Dunford Bridge and you can just make out Winscar reservoir in the background.

The snow up there will now be far deeper than it was when Robert Martin from Shepley took the photo just before the worst of the whiteout struck.

The moors have had well over 10ins of snow– and it continues to get deeper – with strong winds and blizzard conditions leading to drifts several feet deep.

But when the snow does finally melt then Winscar is a great place for a walk.

It is one of Yorkshire Water’s largest reservoirs and home to the Pennine Sailing Club.

It was built between 1972 and 1975 and has an 8million gallon cubic metres capacity of drinking water.

We always need submissions for Picture Of The Week.

We are always keen to celebrate the town’s achievements, its spirit and its people.

So please get out the camera and share your view of what makes Huddersfield so special.

Send entries to: features@examiner.co.uk or you can drop them in the post to Picture of the Week, Features, Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Pennine Business Park, Longbow Close, Bradley Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD2 1GQ.
