A CHARITY coffee morning at Gledholt Methodist Church had a Jubilee theme. Young and old entered into the spirit of the event, with bunting, flags and a Jubilee cake. Young people served refreshments. Proceeds from the event are to go to the Age-related Macular Disease society.

DOZENS of wedding dresses are on display alongside royal memorabilia. Fifty bridal gowns are being exhibited at St Bartholomews Church in Meltham as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

YOUNG children celebrated the Diamond Jubilee by dressing as kings and queens. Fifty youngsters from ABC Day Nursery in Newsome enjoyed games, food and music at an outdoor party.

PUPILS at six Calderdale schools planted trees at exactly the same time to create a permanent tribute to the Queen. Rastrick High School and its five feeder schools planted a red oak tree at 10am on Friday in celebration of the Queens Diamond Jubilee. The five schools are Longroyde Junior School, Castlefields Infants School, Carr Green Primary School, Field Lane Primary School and Woodhouse Primary School.

SOME 50 children enjoyed a Diamond Jubilee party at a New Mill nursery. They dressed up as princes and princesses at Looby Loos in Kirkroyds Lane to enjoy the fun. The youngsters had a party tea and an afternoon of games

ALL 360 children at Lindley Infants School enjoyed a Diamond Jubilee parade. They left the school and paraded through the village, having been joined by staff, governors and residents. They sang a special School Jubilee Song and the National Anthem, before returning to the school. Each child received a Jubilee mug, funded by the Friends of Lindley Infants School.

YOUNGSTERS at Almondbury Junior School picked a red, white and blue theme for their Jubilee celebrations. The pupils ditched their uniforms for the patriotic colours and enjoyed a picnic lunch before each received a Diamond Jubilee coin, funded by the Parent Teacher Association.

A HOLMFIRTH shop uncovered an unusual window display for the Jubilee. Age UK Shop manager Carol Grogan and volunteer Declan Harkin created a live display by taking shifts to sit in the window. The team at the shop spent an entire afternoon kitting the store out with Jubilee paraphernalia and were dressed in red, white and blue. The regal display also boasted a gold lion.

HUNDREDS of balloons were released into the air by Crosland Moor pupils. The children at Dryclough Infant School launched the balloons with the help of Huddersfield Giants mascot Big G. It was part of the schools Queens Diamond Jubilee celebration.

A PAIR of kings and queens were crowned for the day to celebrate The Queens Diamond Jubilee. Pupils at Meltham C of E Primary School decorated their school with bunting, dressed up in red, white and blue and made their own crowns to mark the event. The youngsters also enjoyed party games.

ELOISE Hirst now has a lot in common with the Queen  for she was crowned this week in a church. Eloise was chosen to play the monarch as Shelley First School held a mock coronation to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee. Officiating was the Vicar of Shelley and Shepley Canon Joyce Jones, of Emmanuel Church.

STORIES of flying cars and robots were put into a time capsule as part of Spring Grove Junior and Infant Schools Jubilee fun. Children in each class wrote stories of what life is like now, and what they think it will be like in the future. Their stories have been hidden in the ground for future generations to uncover. Headteacher Hawa Bibi Laher and teacher Debbie Kelly said the activity had captured the childrens imaginations.

IT has been a celebration to remember for schools in Huddersfield. For the past week, the Packhorse Centre has been home to 14 schools from around the area. Children from the North Huddersfield Learning Community set up shop with a display on the Queens Jubilee.

Pre-school manager Jeanette Battye said: We showed them pictures of the Queen so they know who she is and we released balloons with tags on them, hoping the Queen might get one. The children loved it.

UBILEE cakes, outfits and decorations were part of the fun at Hade Edge Junior and Infant School. Pupils and staff enjoyed a traditional street party luncheon in the Holmfirth schools playground to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

JUBILEE kites filled the skies above Lepton as children celebrated the royal event. Pupils at Lepton Church of England School rolled up their sleeves to craft the kites from special kits. They also planted a royal oak tree to mark the Queens diamond jubilee and celebrated with a special picnic.

COMMEMORATIVE £5 coins were presented to every pupil at Scissett First School to mark the Queens Diamond Jubilee. A total of 158 children celebrated the occasion by dressing up as royalty to enjoy a jubilee tea. Royal-themed cupcakes, hats and flags helped set the tone. The children also sang traditional songs and took part in celebratory activities.

Shelley First School children enjoyed two days of events including a mock Coronation, a procession around the village and a street party. The lucky youngsters also had a garden party with stalls and a last night of the proms sing-a-long.
