Colne Valley crime update

THORNTON LODGE: May 22. Suspect approached man and asked to borrow his phone, then asked to borrow some money. Man refused each request. Suspect pushed man and took his phone. Mugger is Asian, mid-20s, around 5ft 9in tall, of medium build with short black hair, moustache and beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt, brown bodywarmer, brown trousers and white trainers.

CROSLAND MOOR: May 23. Burglar broke into house and took cigarettes and a mobile phone.

May 25. Burglar smashed window and climbed into house. House alarm sounded and thief ran off with a computer and a ring.

May 26. Silver Ford Fiesta, number plate W675DYG, stolen.

CROSLAND HILL: May 26. Vandal tore turf and scattered it round the green at the 13th hole of Crosland Heath Golf Club.

MILNSBRIDGE: May 23. Thieves broke into Woodlands Pennine Plant Services on Dale Street and took a white and green skip wagon, number plate X538MKJ.

May 27. Burglar kicked in panel of wooden front door and climbed through into kitchen of house. Nothing stolen.

May 29. Red Nissan Micra, number plate G335AJO, stolen.

LONGWOOD: May 26. Wheelbarrow stolen.

May 29. Five men broke into unoccupied house. Two suspects arrested at the scene, three more detained shortly after.

May 30. White Vauxhall Astra stolen but later recovered.

MARSDEN: May 23. Paintwork scratched on three cars.

May 23. Thief broke car window and entered vehicle. Nothing stolen.

May 24. Fuel cards, keys and satnav stolen from Pearson Funeral Service on Manchester Road.

LINTHWAITE: May 24. Laptops and wallets stolen from house.

May 25. Arsonist sets wheeled bin alight. Flames spread to nearby shed.

May 25. Wing mirrors of four parked cars damaged.

May 27. Kayak stolen from roof of parked car.

SLAITHWAITE: May 25. Buggy stolen from outside house.

May 27. Bike stolen from Manchester Road cemetery.

May 30. Would-be burglar disturbed while kicking through bottom panel of front door. Suspect ran off to Bridge Street.
