Longwood homes plan

Homes plans are given more time

LONGWOOD: A developer has been given more time to build 17 homes in the village. Direct Investments Yorkshire won planning permission to build at Benn Lane in Longwood in 2005. Kirklees Council’s Huddersfield Planning Sub-committee last Thursday decided to give the developer more time to start work at the site. Two local residents have objected to the extension. Their complaints include:

The development would spoil an area of woodland.

Traffic would increase on Benn Lane.

Local schools are already full.

The new homes would overlook back gardens on Sunnybank View.

The sub-committee meeting begins at 1pm and residents are welcome to speak on the application.
