A BIKE ride in memory of Private Anton Frampton raised hundreds of pounds for a soldiers’ charity.
Seven cyclists from Deighton Working Men’s Club took up the challenge to pedal from York to Huddersfield to raise money for the cause.
The 35-mile event came after the Longwood soldier – whose family are members of the club – was killed whilst serving in Afghanistan in March this year.
Anton’s grandfather Harry Evans is the longest serving member of the club, on Deighton Road.
Members came together to show their support by organising a bike ride and charity auction for the West Yorkshire Army Benevolent Fund.
