WALKERS are invited to take part in an ancient harvest festival tomorrow.
A guided walk will take place from Castle Hill to celebrate Lughnasadh (pronounced loo'nass'ah) which is traditionally one of the first harvest festivals and is connected to the reaping of the first corn.
Castle Hill Ranger Julian Brown will be leading the six-mile moderate/hard walk through the fields and on footpaths around the Almondbury landmark to mark this ancient time of gathering and preparation.
The walk starts at 1pm and lasts around three hours. Places should be booked in advance by contacting Julian, tel: 07968 426312, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Walkers will need good footwear, warm and clothing and waterproofs.
Children must be accompanied and only assistance dogs are allowed.
