THE intended victim of a drive-by shooting in Huddersfield was a 33-year-old man, police revealed last night.

Armed officers were sent to Ruth Street in Newsome on Monday afternoon after a shot was fired at the man from a silver car.

Police also revealed that the cartridge fired was a blank.

No-one has been arrested following the incident, which happened around 3.15pm on Monday.

Police sealed off Ruth Street after the shooting.

In an unrelated incident, fire ripped through the mill-owner’s house at nearby Newsome Mills, just minutes after the shooting.
