A WOMAN was punched and kicked by a man as she waited for her bus.
The apparently unprovoked attack on the 24-year old victim happened at the main bus station in the centre of Holmfirth last Tuesday.
The woman was standing at a bus stop on Towngate at 6pm when she was approached and assaulted by a man.
The suspect kicked and punched the victim, leaving her with bruising and a chest injury.
A passer by came to intervene and the man ran off.
The area is not thought to be covered by any CCTV.
Kirklees Council recently approved £800 for a pole for a security camera that has been acquired by Holme Valley Parish Council but it has not yet been installed.
The suspect was described as a white man, around 5ft 6ins tall with short brown hair.
He was wearing jeans and a black coat.
