Kirkwood Hospice boosted by Hawaiian fundraiser

A HUDDERSFIELD woman has raised thousands of pounds for Kirkwood Hospice with a Hawaiian-themed night.

Samantha Kaye, 37, of Farnley Tyas presented the charity with a cheque for £2,271.

She raised the money by inviting 80 women to her home for a Hawaiian night.

“Everyone turned up in beachwear and we had a great night,” she said.

“The guests paid £10 a ticket and we also had a bar run by Leon Wright and Adam Bullas, a raffle and a jewellery stall.

“I think it’s a brilliant amount to raise.”

Samantha is organising another hospice fundraiser following the success of the March 30 party.

The Farnley Fun Run will begin at the village recreation ground at 10.30am on Sunday, September 9.
