FREEMASONS have paid for three flat-screen televisions for a new development for adults with profound disabilities at Hollybank Trust.

Batley Masonic Lodge charity steward David Glew, of the Scarborough Lodge 1214 in Batley, presented the cheque to Hollybank Trust events fundraiser Nicky Doyle during a tour of the premises at Roe Head in Mirfield.

He was joined by the Lodge’s current worshipful master John Parkin with his wife Carole, and member Jim Batty with his wife Judith.

The Battys’ son Ben works in the IT department at Hollybank, which is how they heard about the need for the new TV screens.

The flat screen TVs, costing about £1,500 in total, were delivered to the Beeches, Poplars and Conkers, which make up the Meadows, which was officially opened in October by Coronation Street actress Paula Lane.

All 30 residents have now moved in, so they will be able to enjoy the new screens which will be installed in the private smaller lounges in each of the units.

Hollybank Trust cares for, educates and enriches the lives of children, young people and adults with profound and multiple disabilities, offering them a home for life.

The Trust is based on Far Common Road. To find out more about the charity, go to www.hollybanktrust.com
