Police seized guns and drugs during a raid on a Ravensthorpe street.

Armed officers swooped on Quarry Road as part of a “planned operation” in the area on Thursday night.

They raided a house and stopped and searched two cars.

Four men aged 25, 27, 28 and 31 were arrested for possession of firearms and drugs offences and are still being questioned by police.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police working on intelligence conducted a planned operation in the Ravensthorpe area of Dewsbury in relation to drugs and firearms offences.

“Two vehicles were stopped and then further searches conducted in the Quarry Road area.

“Class A drugs, cash and firearms were seized during the operation.

“Four were arrested for possession of firearms and drugs offences and remain in custody at this time.

“A scene remains in place today and enquiries remain ongoing.”
