A TEENAGE mountain biker was taken to hospital after a dramatic moorland rescue.
The Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Yorkshire Ambulance Service were all involved in the rescue from the moors above Wessenden Valley, Marsden, yesterday afternoon.
All three organisations responded to a call to evacuate an injured mountain biker from a steep hillside in the Wessenden Valley.
The 16-year-old Huddersfield girl had been riding as part of a group when she suffered an ankle injury, two miles from from the nearest road.
She was treated on scene before being stretchered across the moors by members of the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team to the nearest available helicopter landing site.
She was then transferred to the waiting Air Ambulance and flown to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment.
