HOSPICES across the UK – including Huddersfield’s Kirkwood Hospice – are set to benefit from a new partnership with Yorkshire Bank.
Staff at the bank’s 190-plus high street branches and 37 business banking centres are set to raise many thousands of pounds for Help the Hospices, which is the hospice movement’s national charity.
Bank bosses have set the ball rolling with a £10,000 donation. Over the coming months, bank staff will be involved in volunteering at their local hospices. Other projects will include drumming up corporate donations.
Maxine Blunden, director of fundraising for Help the Hospices, said: “We are very excited to be working with Yorkshire Bank. It’s clear they are genuinely committed to helping the communities in which they operate.” ŠŠ
Dean Cutbill, Yorkshire Bank’s products and marketing director, said: “There’s a lot of enthusiasm among our employees for the new partnership.
“People are particularly excited by the fact that money raised locally will benefit their local hospice so they see the direct impact of their efforts.
“It’s always difficult choosing a new partner from so many good causes, but Help the Hospices is a very worthwhile charity and we are proud to play our part in supporting the communities in which we live and work.”
The new partnership follows the Yorkshire Bank’s three year relationship with the British Heart Foundation, which raised more than £500,000.
