Waste down, profit up

ADVICE to help chemical companies and pharmaceutical manufacturers reduce waste and save money will be given at an event in Huddersfield.

The free seminar has been organised by government-backed environmental support body Envirowise, the chemical industry-led Yorkshire Chemical Focus and the national networking group Chemistry Innovation Knowledge Transfer Network.

It takes place from 1.30pm to 4.45pm on Wednesday, April 9, at the Briar Court Hotel, Birchencliffe.

Delegates will be given practical advice on reducing their raw material and energy use to cut costs and improve their environmental credentials.

A spokesman for Envirowise said: “Companies will learn about ways to incorporate a number of money-saving aspects into their business practices, including waste minimisation.

“They will also be able to find out about the benefits of improving the design of their products.”
