Firm’s award hope

A HOLME Valley building firm is aiming to repeat an awards success.

Honley-based A E Haywood and Sons has been nominated for the West Yorkshire Built In Quality Awards.

These are run by the building control departments of Kirklees, Calderdale, Leeds, Wakefield and Bradford councils.

The company was among the winners in last year’s awards.

It won the class for the best domestic extension for its work on an Almondbury property.

This time the company has been nominated for a renovation scheme programme in Honley. A E Haywood, which celebrated 30 years in business last year, is one of three finalists in the restoration and conversion category.

The awards, to be presented at a ceremony at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford tomorrow, recognise builders and developers who achieve a high standard of workmanship.
