GREEN Building Store was rewarded for its “pioneering approach to sustainability” and for delivering “cutting edge sustainable products to the market”.
Earlier this year, the company launched a range of housebuilding products under the Passivhaus name to enable self-builders to create energy-efficient homes.
The company has pioneered sustainable practices in window manufacture with its Ecoplus range of timber windows and doors – made at its Bolster Moor workshops.
It also provides water-saving toilets and environmentally-friendly paints and coatings.
Green Building Store director Chris Herring said: “Our Queen’s Award is a fantastic recognition of all the work we have done over the last 14 years in pushing the sustainability agenda in the construction industry.
“We will continue to offer leading edge sustainable construction products – providing radical solutions to the urgent threat posed by climate change.”
The Queen's Award will be presented to Green Building Store Directors and staff at a ceremony later in the year.
