DEPARTMENT store chain House of Fraser has quashed rumours of a deal to sell some of its stores to Debenhams.
The group, which owns the former Beatties store at the Kingsgate centre in Huddersfield, insisted it was not putting any of its stores up for sale.
The group said trading was ahead of plan and growth had been positive in the past 12 weeks, adding: “The department store continues to be in a strong financial position.”.
Its comments followed speculation that rival Debenhams might be looking to buy some or all of its 62 stores.
