A FOOTBALL agency business representing a host of Premier League stars is up for sale after a “very disappointing” January transfer window.

Media and entertainment business First Artist said it was examining options for the sports business, which manages about 200 footballers in the UK, as part of efforts to reduce its debt burden.

First Artist said the poor January transfer window had hurt the division, with results lower than management expectations – although it managed to maintain its market share.

The sports business worked on the transfer of Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Arsenal’s Andrey Arshavin.

Others on its books include Spurs player Niko Kranjcar and Fulham’s Jonathan Greening.
