CARDS and gifts group International Greetings reported a successful Christmas and said it had made further progress since then.

The supplier of greetings cards, crackers, and stationery said sales for the 10 months to January 31 were in line with expectations as it increased its business in the discount and value retail market.

Debt during its peak borrowing period was kept “well under control and well within the bank facility” and was now reducing ahead of market expectations.

International Greetings said it took record orders at the industry’s major spring fair at Birmingham’s NEC with a “very encouraging” response to its new product ranges.
