KIRKLEES businesses have been urged to attend a major IT event this week.

More than 40 IT and telecoms businesses from across Yorkshire will be showcasing their products and services at the second annual IT & Telecoms EXPO on Thursday at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

The free event, organised by the Yorkshire region’s IT and telecoms business-to-business network, techmesh, will include the Techpanel providing visitors to the EXPO with an opportunity to quiz seven industry leaders about hot topics and issues.

There will also be an Interactive Zone, where companies will be demonstrating their products and visitors will be able to watch, listen and play with some of the latest technologies.

James Akrigg, head of technology for Partners at Microsoft, will be the keynote speaker while Huddersfield businessman and Freserve founder Ajaz Ahmed will also address the event.

Helen Silverman, techmesh membership development manager, said: “We are really excited about the event.”
