FORMER cricketer Alec Stewart fielded questions from an audience of more than 300 business people at an event in Huddersfield.

The ex-Surrey and England star was one of the guest speakers at the Yorkshire Business Forum held by Huddersfield Town in association with law firm Chadwick Lawrence and Yorkshire Bank.

Also addressing the audience at the Galpharm Stadium were motivational speaker Mark Bradley, Town manager Lee Clark and Town commercial director Sean Jarvis.

Town’s first-team squad joined guests for a two-course lunch before Lee Clark held a question and answer session on the season to date and the team’s promotion hopes.

Stewart gave guests some intriguing insights into life as a top sportsman – as well as the inside scoop on some of his old England teammates.

The event also raised cash for the football club’s Keep It Up campaign – with £5 of the £15 ticket price going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Town’s youth academy.

Town commercial manager Tracy Nelson said: “This was the seventh Yorkshire Business Forum that the club has held and it was by far the biggest. All three speakers were fantastic.”
