A RENOWNED brewery in Kirklees has changed hands.

Mike Field and Paul Klos, who founded Anglo Dutch Brewery in 2000, have sold the business to Richard Sharpe and Paul Horne.

The award-winning brewery will continue to operate from its existing site in Savile Town, Dewsbury.

Among its recent successes, the brewery launched a special beer, Yorkshire Captain, last year to mark Dewsbury’s Andrew Gale becoming captain of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Mr Horne, of The Spotted Cow at Drighlington, said the new owners were anxious to expand the business.

Mr Horne will run the on-site operation. Mr Sharpe, who is an established businessman, keeping an eye on the business.

Mr Klos has agreed to stay on for two years to pass on his brewing skills.

Mr Field has other interests in the licensed trade, having started the West Riding pub at Dewsbury railway station.
