BUSINESS adviser Grant Thornton has appointed Calum Lynch as director of its specialist business risk services team in West Yorkshire.
Mr Lynch (pictured) joins from a FTSE 250 business based in the north, where he spent three years as group head of risk and audit. His career includes seven years with KPMG where he specialised in internal audit outsourcing and effectiveness reviews. He has also worked in the internal audit teams at AXA Insurance and The Amulet Group.
In his new role, Mr Lynch will focus on corporate clients in the large listed market, giving advice on risk management and governance. He will work closely with partner Ian Falconer, who leads the firm’s 25-strong team across the north of England.
Grant Thornton has also appointed Sharon McLean (also pictured) as audit executive based in Sheffield.
An ACA qualified accountant, she started her career as a graduate finance trainee with the NHS in Birmingham before spending four years working at Prime Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors Ltd in Solihull as an audit and accounts assistant.
