ONLINE fashion retailer ASOS remained in vogue with shoppers and the City as UK sales jumped by 24%.

The company, which has 5.4m customers in 160 countries, banished fears that its home market is stagnating by focusing on its core twenty-something customer base and delivering more price cuts.

The group, which bases its products on outfits first worn by celebrities, dropped prices by about 3% on its own-brand lines from February to help take UK sales to £62m in the three months to November 30.

Total revenues rose by 30% to £169.4m while international sales rose by 34% to £103.7m.

In the US, where Michelle Obama was photographed in an ASOS dress during the presidential election campaign, sales were up 57%.
