BANKING giant Barclays has opened its doors to reveal the bank branch of the future – in Huddersfield.
Barclays has completed a major refurbishment of the branch at Market Place to introduce innovative technology and a new-look design which allows customers to carry out their banking business in a variety of ways.
The revamped branch was officially opened by Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman, who said: “It’s good to see a global giant like Barclays not only committed to Huddersfield but investing in our town centre and in its services to customers.
“The new facilities will provide the latest technology for customers. The new design of the branch will improve access and give greater privacy as well as a better place to do their banking.”
Branch manager Stuart Ambler said: “The refurbishment has been an exciting project and we’re delighted to be able to provide such a broad spectrum of services all from one site.
“The new premises will allow us to deliver the great service our customers expect and the investment in the new premises confirms our commitment to Huddersfield and the surrounding region.”
Celebrations to mark the re-opening included a chance to see the Barclays Premier League Trophy, a visit by Father Christmas and his elves, Dickensian carol singers, dancers, and giveaways.
