THE owner of Butlins holiday camps lifted annual profits to more than £100m as it benefited from the credit crunch.

Bourne Leisure, which also runs Warner Holidays and Haven UK caravan park businesses, lifted profits by 6.7% to £103m last year. Revenues totalled £745m.

The privately-owned business increased profits by 20% at its caravan parks division, which has 1.5m visitors a year.

Trading across the group continuing to be strong this year – with visitor numbers at Butlins rising by 15% this summer and occupancy rates now running at 90%.
