Colliers International posts gloomy survey

UNCERTAINTY about the UK’s economic prospects and the eurozone crisis continue to constrain capital investment and consumer spending, according to a survey by property experts Colliers International.

UNCERTAINTY about the UK’s economic prospects and the eurozone crisis continue to constrain capital investment and consumer spending, according to a survey by property experts Colliers International.

Investment volumes remain low, the survey said, with activity outside London limited to smaller assets across commercial segments.

The retail sector is suffering from great uncertainty over consumer spending. Outside London, rental declines continue and high void rates continue to plague many high streets.

In the office sector, regional markets continue to improve.

But recovery continued to be a “slow, uncertain process” for the industrial sector.
