HUDDERSFIELD is becoming a hub for property experts and amateurs to exchange ideas about investment opportunities, it is claimed.

The town’s property community is thriving, according to investment and management expert Rachael Wilson (pictured), who heads Huddersfield Property Investors Network.

She said: “It’s easy to listen to the doom and gloom, but experienced investors say it’s a great time to buy property as prices are low and there are many opportunities right now.

“There are many reasons why property is still a sound investment and why serious investors want to continue their property education.

“There is a strong rental market due to demand from students, professionals and people unable to get onto the property ladder. It is also a great time to refurbish properties as building costs are lower than a few years ago.”

PIN meetings are hosted in 26 different locations across the UK, and despite the economic climate, are growing year on year, with 50-plus investors attending locally.

The latest Huddersfield meeting takes place at 6pm today at the Cedar Court Hotel Ainley Top, when experts including solicitors, estate agents, lettings agents, mortgage brokers and building tradesmen are expected to attend.

Said Ms Wilson: “With individuals turning to property in order to counter gloomy predictions about their personal pensions, PIN meetings are an opportunity to find positive solutions and assistance.

“Networking, exchanging information and working together brings real benefits. It is also a welcoming environment for anyone taking early steps in learning about property.”
