OVER half of the UK’s leading owner-managed businesses believe the economy will improve over the next 12 months, a survey says.
The latest Vantis Market inSight survey showed that 58% of respondents are confident about the UK’s economic prospects – despite the uncertainty caused by a general election. Just one in five believe the economy will decline.
Some 28% of businesses polled said they are also expecting to increase staff numbers over the next year, with fewer than one in 10 considering job cuts.
Some 38% of firms put cashflow as the single most important issue, followed by pricing of products at 18%.
