A Colne Valley company is displaying all the signs of success.

And Keith Ball, managing director of Milnsbridge-based Horizon Group, couldn’t be more pleased that the firm won in this, the first awards the company has entered.

“We didn’t expect it and we are absolutely delighted,” he said.

“The achievement was in getting on the short-list so to win is the icing on the cake.”

The company is a diversified business producing trade signs; furniture, fittings and equipment for the education sector; products for the transport industry as well as metalworking and powder coating services.

The company has also devoted time and effort in training and development, which has seen several of its 35 employees gain recognised health and safety qualifications as well as construction sector accreditation.

Key contract wins include ones with infrastructure specialist Lend Lease as well ones to provide fittings for the custody suites at police stations in Leeds and Wakefield on behalf of Interserve and timetable cases for public transport body Centro.

Horizon has increased turnover by 61% in the past 12 months and has doubled its workforce.
