With sites in Meltham and Mirfield, Camira has grown in 40 years to become a multi-million pound concern designing and making fabrics for offices, colleges and universities and exporting to about 70 countries worldwide.
Camira, which has 650 employees, has supplied Huddersfield University, Yorkshire Tiger Buses, Leeds First Direct Arena, BBC MediaCity UK, Barclays and HSBC.
Also nominated in the category, sponsored by Fantastic Media, were Continental Sports Ltd and Specialist Glass Products Ltd.
Marketing Director Ian Burn said: “This is for all 650 of our staff members who take our products to all four corners of the world and keep Huddersfield traditions alive from spinning to warping and weaving to dyeing. It means products made in Huddersfield have a global significance. We should achieve a £70m turnover this year which would make it the best year ever for the business. We started 40 years ago in Paddock with just a dozen people.”
