A YOUTH marketing agency run by young people is establishing itself as an authority on knowing what makes teenagers tick.

Fourteen19 has launched a free ‘insight’ service for professional designers and marketers to help them find out how their campaigns can engage the attention of young people.

Fourteen19 is based at the Creative & Media Studio School at Rawthorpe’s Netherhall Learning Campus.

The service, called Plugin, is the brainchild of 20-year-old Josh Gollings and 16-year-old Christopher Beal who run weekly sessions with different groups of 14 to 19-year-olds – and then produce a detailed report which is emailed to subscribers.

The two young marketers have been spurred on by the positive responses – and the requests for further work by a number of recipients.

Subscribers to the service have already received information on the impact of university fees.

There is also information on which groups use Facebook the most and even which groups of teenagers don’t like going to the cinema.

Josh said: “We have been given a great opportunity at Fourteen19 and we are making sure that we make the most of it.

“We wanted to find a way of demonstrating that we understand young people and Plugin is a great way of doing it.

“We are adding new subscribers all the time and from feedback we have received the information is being used in a number of high-profile boardrooms.”

The work done with young people aids literacy, numeracy and confidence as well as giving them a unique set of skills they cannot get in the classroom.
