GKN lifts third quarter sales

AEROSPACE and car parts maker GKN said its third quarter sales rose by 11% to £1.48bn in the three months to the end of September – as Japanese car production recovered after the earthquake.

AEROSPACE and car parts maker GKN said its third quarter sales rose by 11% to £1.48bn in the three months to the end of September – as Japanese car production recovered after the earthquake.

However, demand for small cars in Europe had weakened.

Underlying trading profits rose by 13% to £113m as GKN said fourth quarter order books looked healthy.
