Come on Town!

An online survey has been launched to find our where football loyalties lie among business people across Yorkshire.

Accountancy firm Grant Thornton has teamed up with The Football Business to launch the survey to discover which football teams – or other sporting organisations – local businesses support and if firms are using sport as client entertainment or to promote their own brands to a wider audience.

And as an incentive to take part, Grant Thornton and The Football Business are offering senior decision-makers at Yorkshire firms the chance to win corporate hospitality at the club of their choice to use as they wish.

The reason behind the survey was borne out of an interest to discover how, where and why Yorkshire businesses are supporting the regions teams and will ultimately be used to help football clubs offer a better and more targeted service and to help businesses forge relationships with these clubs.

Sandra O’Neil, head of business development and client services at Grant Thornton, said: “We work with two key business objectives in mind. Firstly we aim to continually help businesses throughout Yorkshire to develop and secondly we want to ensure that we build lasting client relations.

“Our support of the Show Us Your Colours survey is a way for us to see if businesses in the region are supporting their local team and if not, why not. Often a football club is the biggest brand a town or city has to offer and our experiences of using football in particular has helped us support our clients and gain new ones.”
