YORKSHIRE Water has scored a hat trick - by taking a national title for the third year running.

The company was named Utility of the Year in the Utility Industry Achievement Awards.

The awards were presented at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

The Bradford-based company beat off competition from RWN Power and Scottish Water to take the title.

Kevin Whiteman, managing director of Yorkshire Water, said: "We've taken yet another big step on the road to becoming clearly the best water company in the UK.

"I'm incredibly proud of what we have achieved, but there is always more to do and we must now continue to build on this success."

The company was recognised for meeting leakage targets, increasing efficiency and improving customer satisfaction.
