A human resources consultancy has joined forces with a law firm to deliver a seminar designed to help businesses improve their performance management procedures.

Holmfirth-based The Personnel Partnership is hosting the three-hour workshop, which starts at 9.30am on Tuesday, June 23, alongside Eaton Smith at the law firm’s offices in Market Street, Huddersfield.

The workshop will be delivered by The Personnel Partnership managing director Helen Straw and Eaton Smith partner Kate Booth.

It will provide attendees with information on how to establish a strategic approach to performance management, including creating a new policy or adapting an existing one and the dismissal and tribunal process.

Helen has more than 20 years’ experience in HR, having developed and implemented a range of HR policies and strategies for many small to medium businesses and larger blue chip companies.

She said: “Managing performance effectively can not only help you improve staff productivity but also deal with potential issues before they escalate. This workshop will give you lots of practical advice and you will leave armed with lots of tools and techniques to help you effectively manage your people.”

Kate specialises in employment law, with a particular interest in business acquisitions, restructures and discrimination issues.

She has worked with businesses in Kirklees and across the UK for the last eight years.

Said Kate: “I’ll be looking to inform attendees – using practical examples – about what can sometimes go wrong when it comes to people management and will give them the tools to be able to address any potential issues before they arise.”
