A GOVERNOR of Greenhead College and a former lecturer at Huddersfield Polytechnic has been elected to a top local post.

Roger Bryant, who was for many years one of the best known lecturers in the UK on technical developments in accountancy and auditing, has been installed as president of the Huddersfield and District Society of Chartered Accountants.

Mr Bryant succeeds Edward Lee, finance director and company secretary of Marsden firm John Edward Crowther (Holdings) plc.

The handover came at the society’s annual meeting held at Huddersfield University.

Said Mr Bryant: “I am delighted to have been appointed president of the society, most especially because it will give me an opportunity to renew friendships with former colleagues and students in Huddersfield, Yorkshire and beyond.”
