HUDDERSFIELD Town has teamed up with a leading training company to help executives, directors and senior managers get fit for work.

The Huddersfield Town Executive Programme has been launched by the club and Dale Carnegie Training – which has provided programmes followed by business people ranging from Town operations director Ann Hough to multi-millionaire Warren Buffett.

By exploring and learning about different leadership and management styles, each executive delegate can make choices about who they want to be as a leader – and receive coaching to achieve their goals.

The course also enables delegates to see the problems and challenges facing executives in the sports industry. It will provide an insight into the similarities between sporting and business excellence and how the best practices from the industry can benefit any other business sector.

Andy Booth (pictured), club ambassador for Town and a graduate of Dale Carnegie, said: “The first time I had to stand up in front of a live business audience and talk in my role as club ambassador was one of the scariest moments in my life.

“I could play in front of thousands of people week in week out, but talking about myself in front of 20 people was so nerve wracking I thought I’d never be able to do it.

“I now thrive on opportunities to speak to groups of people and this is down to the training I received from Dale Carnegie – so much so the after dinner speaking circuit might beckon!”
