A PRINT company in Elland has completed the takeover of a Wakefield firm.

Lick, based at Lowfields Business Park, has bought Kemshell Design and Print for an undisclosed sum.

The newly acquired business will join the Lick digital division, offering full colour print to its customers.

Lick, formed in 2002, employs 48 full-time staff at its offices and 25,000sq ft warehouse.

Clients include builders’ merchant chain Travis Perkins, villa holidays company ITC Classics, Northern Foods, Grange Moor-based womenswear retailer Bonmarché and coach operator National Holidays.

Services include data management, programming and processing, storage and distribution, print management and compiling promotional material for shop till areas.

Managing director Linden Kitson said buying Kemshell was a natural progression for the growing business.

He added: “We have experienced increasing demand from both large and small companies for flexible digital print which offers clients the benefit of lower volume, bespoke and personalised digital print work.”

Mr Kitson said Kemshell was the first of a number of possible acquisitions for the Lick Group, which in just five years has built itself into a company with sales of more than £3m.
