This could be the start of something big...

Process design engineers Manrochem Ltd has held talks with representatives from Huddersfield University and Kirklees College to examine ways of working together.

The meeting at Manrochem’s Huddersfield offices was attended by Daniel Belton and Prof Grant Campbell, of Huddersfield University; Nandish Thippeswamy, Edward Jennings and Andrew Pearson, of Manrochem; Paul Singh and Jason Taylor, of Kirklees College.

Mr Jennings, business director at Manrochem, said: “Following recent separate meetings between Manrochem Ltd and both Huddersfield University and Kirklees College, it quickly became apparent that there was a great synergy in what all three Huddersfield institutions were championing in their own sector.

“With this in mind, Manrochem facilitated an informal meeting to bounce ideas off each other. The meeting was a great success with all parties agreeing that co-operation and pooling of resources and knowledge would be of great benefit to all parties concerned and ultimately this would then benefit students and apprentices across the chemical and engineering industries.”

Mr Singh, Kirklees College process manufacturing operations manager, said: “Kirklees College was pleased to be involved in discussions with the university and Manrochem. We are always happy to work with local industry experts on a variety of projects.”
