A process design and project management engineering firm has won a monthly award.

Manrochem Ltd, based at New North Parade in Huddersfield, was named Business of the Month in the competition run by Huddersfield law firm Eaton Smith in conjunction with the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and government export support arm UK Trade & Investment.

The company specialises in helping client firms implement new processes and install new production facilities to increase productivity or tackle safety or environmental issues.

An impressive client list includes many household names in the chemicals, food and pharmaceuticals sectors while Manrochem benefits from repeat business and word of mouth recommendations.

The company, which employs 25 people and is seeking to recruit more staff, impressed the award judges with the array of services provided in a niche sector.

The judges were also swayed by the level of investment Manrochem makes in its staff and its contribution to the local community – supporting several local interests from sponsorship to providing speakers at local school employment events. It also provides work experience and placements for students from local schools, colleges and universities.

Manrochem business director Edward Jennings said: “It is always nice to be recognised for our achievements and we attribute our success to a dedicated, professional and hardworking workforce. We also have a culture throughout the business of helping and assisting clients with whatever problems or requirements they may have.”

The Business of the Month Award is open to firms in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.
