ORGANISERS have hailed the inaugural meeting of the Milnsbridge business association “a great success”.

Representatives of 28 businesses attended the meeting, held at Milnsbridge Baptist Church.

The organisation was formed to help move the village forward in the wake of disruption caused by work to strengthen the bridge running through the village – when some traders said they had been badly affected.

One of the organisders, Stephen Selbie, of Selbie Opticians, Market Street, Milnsbridge, said: “The meeting went well and a lot of brilliant ideas were put forward by those in attendance that could really make a difference to the village both for its residents and local business.”

He said the association aimed to promote local businesses, improve the image of the village, run and promote local events and work together an effective marketing campaign “to really push the village in a positive direction with the help of local councillors and MPs”.
