BUSINESS leaders in Huddersfield have been urged to help tackle youth unemployment.

Young people’s charity The Prince’s Trust is urging local bosses to sign up to a major regional fundraising campaign aiming to raise thousands of pounds to help local young people into jobs.

The Million Makers fundraising challenge will see businesses from across Yorkshire raise cash for the trust by setting up their own mini-enterprises.

Businesses will field teams to compete – with each team being given seed funding of £1,500 and challenged to turn it into £10,000.

A spokeswoman for the Trust said: “Million Makers is a great way to get staff motivated and working together as a team as well as providing networking opportunities and a chance to raise a company’s profile locally and nationally.”
