A PLUMBING and heating firm in Huddersfield has boosted its weekly takings after joining a networking group with a difference.

JDL Plumbing and Heating has increased its turnover by £500 a week since joining The Referrals Network in February.

That means it has made more than £11,000 so far – simply by embracing old-fashioned principles of developing good relationships and helping out fellow colleagues and business owners.

The networking group enables businesses to grow through its unique online business referrals system which allows members to refer business without the penalties of compromising day-to-day business activity.

Jamie Lambert, owner of JDL Plumbing and Heating, said: “I really do feel like I’ve hit the jackpot! This really works for us. We’ve tried others, but we just wanted a straight-forward networking group that recognised individual contribution without taking valuable time out of our working week.

“Our long working days and irregular working weeks make The Referrals Network an ideal networking opportunity for us and we’ve embraced it wholeheartedly.

“It gives us the freedom and the opportunity to contribute whilst building valuable relationships and sales enquiries – we couldn’t ask for anything else.”

JDL is looking forward to continuing to contribute to the Huddersfield group to build on joint efforts of 210 secured referrals and £39,000 of invoiced business whilst keeping a close eye on their own business success.

The Referrals Network, billed as the only UK online referrals networking facility, already has two groups in Leeds, one in Wakefield and one in Huddersfield – and plans to expand into other parts of Yorkshire as well as across the Pennines.
