A CLECKHEATON company providing equipment to reduce factory noise has plenty to shout about.
Wakefield Acoustics, based at Brook Mill, Hightown Road, has been presented with an award after achieving excellent scores in an independent assessment of its performance on safety, health, environment and quality.
The audit was carried out by supplier management services organisation Achilles.
The organisation is recognised for providing independent evaluation, benchmarking and industry-specific assessments – all of which can lead to a significant reduction in the time and effort needed to pre-qualify for contracts.
The scheme is regarded as the “gold standard” for contracting companies serving utility firms.
Wakefield Acoustics was evaluated on its in-house health, safety, quality and environmental systems.
It was also assessed for a recently completed site installation, including the design and manufacture of an acoustic screen at a hospital in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
Jane Dawson, managing director of Wakefield Acoustics, said: “We are delighted to have achieved Achilles Utility Vendor Data Base accreditation.
“It is a terrific achievement and highlights not only our market position, but also underpins our commitment to investing in safety, health, quality and environmental systems both at our manufacturing plant and also on the end-user sites on which we operate.”
Wakefield Acoustics was formed in 1980 and takes its name from its original location.
The company serves industries including power generation, oil and gas and waste water treatment in markets worldwide.
