THE man responsible for selling Yorkshire to the world is coming to Huddersfield.
Gary Verity (pictured), chief executive of tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire, will deliver the annual lecture of the Chartered Management Institute’s Central and West Yorkshire branch, which is to be held at Huddersfield University’s new £17m Business School.
The free event, which takes place on Wednesday, March 23, is open to CMI members and the public.
Yorkshire attracts millions of visitors a year – with the region’s tourism industry supporting 250,000 jobs directly and generating £7bn in revenue.
Since his appointment, Mr Verity has implemented award-winning marketing campaigns to raise the region’s image in the UK and around the world and oversee the launch of website yorkshire.com.
Mr Verity has an established track record in brand building, customer service and managing complex businesses with national and international profiles.
