A TEXTILE industry stalwart has retired.

Neil Gledhill has completed a 40-year career in the industry by retiring as operations director at Holmfirth-based Westwood Yarns.

Mr Gledhill (front, right) was presented with the gift of an iPad by managing director Trevor Chippendale (left) at a presentation ceremony attended by colleagues and friends.

Mr Gledhill joined the firm at Washpit Mills in September, 1990, and became a director the following year. He has been involved in the dyeing and textile spinning sectors for most of his career, working for six different companies in that time.

Paying tribute to Mr Gledhill, Mr Chippendale said: “He will be sadly missed by all at the company.”
