Baby of the Year 2012

Baby of the Year 2012

Does your child have a winning smile? The Examiner's Baby of the Year competition 2012, in association with Locala Community Partnerships, will be starting soon.

The Huddersfield Daily Examiner's prestigious Baby of the Year 2012 competition starts on Monday, August 13th.

Have a free professional portrait sitting with John Woods Photography at the Demonstration Zone inside Huddersfield's Queensgate Market to enter.

Photo sessions are from Monday, August 13th until Saturday, August 25 excluding Sundays. Times will be 10am until 4pm, except when the photographer is on lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

You will then be asked to return to John Woods Photography in Byram Arcade to choose which photograph you would like to appear in the Examiner. The photographer will advise you of this appointment at your initial sitting. Entrants not returning to view will not be entered into the competition.

This year, there will be four different age categories: 0-9 months, 10-18 months, 19-36 months and 3-5 years. All of the photos will then be printed in two special supplements in October. Readers will vote via phone and text to find the top 10 from each category.

The Examiner will then feature the top 40 babies in a special spread and readers will vote again.

We'll have a winner from each category and the baby of toddler with the most votes overall will be crowned our Examiner Baby of the Year 2012.

Natasha Maskery, the Examiner's Senior Brand Executive said: "The Examiner's Baby of the Year competition has a long and proud tradition with us.

"We have been crowning babies since 1973 and the competition never seems to go out of fashion.

"It's lovely to feature the next generation in the newspaper and a lovely keepsake for parents.

"It's so magical when parents are told their child has won."

The winners will receive some vouchers, a special canvass of their winning picture with our winner taking home our historic engraved trophy.

Entry forms with terms and conditions will be printed in the Examiner from Wednesday August 8.
