Big count on to discover schools cash winners
TOKENS for the Schools Collect For Cash have poured in by their thousands.
Now Examiner staff have the huge task of counting them.
They have already reached 43,000 – and are still going strong.
Bonus tokens could be collected online one day each week and last year they totalled 3,000, but that figure has shot up to 5,000 this year.
Senior marketing executive Natasha Maskery said: “It has been a phenomenal response yet again which just goes to show how highly schools value the Schools – Collect For Cash Challenge.
We will be in a position to let the five winning schools know next week and reveal the results in the Examiner.
The £10,000 cash pot has been put up by Barclays Bank.
We ran Barclays Money Skills features testing children’s money knowledge. All correct entries were put into a hat and the winner was drawn out. Ethan Corion, seven, from Dalton, was the winner.
He won a Nintendo Wii, which he is looking for ward to playing with his young brother, Ellis.
